How big is an ebook file size?

This can vary depending on the project. We can estimate that a 10 page ebook will be between 400-500KB, or in other terms, it would take about 1-3mins to download using a dial-up internet connection. However this can take as little as 5 secs on a broadband connection.
How do you need ebook content supplied?

We can build e-Books from scratch if we are supplied with copy (in word is fine) and suitable images which can be supplied in a variety of file formats. We also commonly produce e-Books from an existing brochure provided we have access to high resolution PDF’s of the original printed brochure.
Aren’t ebooks expensive?

eBooks are amazingly affordable.
Cost depends on content and how content is supplied (eg an eBook built from high res PDF’s from an existing paper brochure or built from scratch from supplied copy and images)
How many hyperlinks you require per page also affects cost.
Costs though, are a fraction of paper based brochure production costs with the added advantage of no print, storage or distribution costs.

Can ebooks be produced from scratch or do I need an existing paper publication first?

Yes we can produce ebooks from copy and pictorial content you supply. We don’t have to replicate an e-Book from an existing paper brochure.
Will ebooks totally replace my paper publications?

In some publishing situation yes ebooks can totally replace paper based magazines. In traditional brochure applications such as travel brochures many of our clients find that they can cut their paper print runs by around 25% - 33.3% and of course much improve their reach by having the ebook downloadable or able to be sent by email.
What if someone doesn’t have broad band access. Can they still receive ebooks?

Yes they can but download times are obviously longer. File sizes do not have to be big.
How can ebooks be delivered?

ebooks are wonderfully versatile as a promotional medium. They can be emailed to customers, customers can choose to download ebooks themselves from your website. They can be provided on CD, used in digital signage and kiosks and can prove a very powerful sales tool for sales people having an ebook downloaded to their laptops hard drive.
Can ebooks be shown via digital signage?

Yes, they can be an attractive traffic stopper when set up to auto-turn in digital signage situations.
What’s the turnaround time in producing an ebook?

This depends on size and studio time but we have turned ebooks around in 24 hours from initial supply of paper brochures. A week – 10 days is a more realistic delivery but we are good at meeting tight deadlines.
What is the best photo format?

This can vary depending on the project. If the ebook we are creating is also being printed as a regular brochure/catalogue, we can work with high-resolution PDF files that are created by your graphic designer for printing. If we are creating the ebook from scratch we can work with just about any image format, but for good quality output from us, good quality imagery has to be supplied by you.
